The core of Italian Secret Service is made of two musicians: Dario Cecchini and Leonardo Pieri.
Dario studied drums in his childhood, but switched to sax and flute at 14, discovering his love for Jazz. At 22 he began to play baritone sax, of which he then became a teacher.
During the years he worked with Maurizio Giammarco, Eumir Deodato, Natalie Cole, Kenny Wheeler, Lee Konitz, James Taylor, Louisiana Red, Eros Ramazzotti, Gino Paoli, Zucchero. He’s fiunded his own outfit Funk Off, a 15 piece marching band, recently signed by Blue Note, who released tehir first album. Leonardo has a piano diploma and still studies composition, jazz and electronic music in Boston and Paris. He’s worked with many big Italian singers and musicians.Italian Secret Service’s debut album ‘ID Super’ was released in 2001 on La Douce. It gained great responses worldwide, specially from Japan. The songs from the album have been fetaured in more than 100 compilations!Their new album ‘Not The Same’ follows the footsteps of the first one, exploring the jazzier side of easy listening music and merging 50s/60s roots with modern electronic Lounge sounds. The album includes two covers: Nirvana’s ‘Smell like teen spirit’ e ‘Hope’ by Duke Ellington, from the soundtrack of ‘Anatomy of a murder’.
