CRISTIANA POLEGRI

Cristiana Polegri began studying piano at age 10 and then developed a passion for saxophone at the Scuola Popolare di Musica di Testaccio in Rome. Her passion for music and art in general led her to earn a saxophone diploma from the Conservatory and to attend international jazz singing and saxophone workshops with Mike Westbrook, Dave Liebman, Gary Burton, Maurizio Giammarco, Danilo Rea, Giovanni Tommaso, and others. She has studied singing, acting, funk and jazz dance classes, and is a vocal coach and music and saxophone teacher. At age 22, she began working in the theater as a singer, saxophonist, actress, and dancer. She has also worked in film and television as an actress, singer, saxophonist, speaker, and voice actress.
She has collaborated by playing and singing on tours and records of numerous artists such as Mario Biondi, Franco Califano, Massimo Ranieri, Little Tony, Francesco De Gregori, Loredana Bertè, Riccardo Fogli, Anna Tatangelo, Tormento and many others. With the record label Via Veneto Jazz (Emi) her first solo album “Bindinjazz” was released on the music of Umberto Bindi revisited in a jazz key, for which she was hosted at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, at the Catanzaro jazz festival, at the Palma Club, she held a concert live on Radio Rai 3 “La stanza della musica” from the Rai room in via Asiago 10, at the Casa del Jazz, and in many other situations. In 2019 she created her first Teatro Canzone show entitled “Brava, Suoni come un uomo!” written together with Stefano Fresi, Toni Fornari, Dado. Directed by Emiliano Luccisano. It’s a show that involves her fully as an actress, singer, musician and dancer.
