The new album from Joe Di Brutto, one of the most active bands on the live front in Italy, with over 100 gigs every year, with its ironic title ‘Maccaroni Soul’, introduces its musical theme. That is the remake with a Soul arrangement of some of the most famous Italian pop songs. Together since 1992, Joe Di Brutto are well known for their familiarity with the 70’s Funk sound. With this new project they go back a few years, back to their first love: Soul music. And in particular Motown or Stax Soul, the one that used to top the charts in the 60’s and 70’s, with artists like Wilson Pickett or the Four Tops, just to give you an idea! Here we find true evergreens for the Italian public like ‘L’estate Sta Finendo’ by Righeira, ‘Bruci La Città’ by Irene Grandi, ‘Scende La Pioggia’ by Gianni Morandi, recorded in a style that makes them sound ‘older than the originals’! Together with two original compositions by Marco Prati, we find also: ‘Nessuno mi può giudicare’ (Caterina Caselli), ‘Ti sento’ (Matia Bazar), ‘L’ora dell’amore’ (I Camaleonti), ‘Il tempo di morire’ (Lucio Battisti), ‘Più bella cosa’ (Eros Ramazzotti).
